You can imagine how delighted we were to discover the UKGBC has recently (10 May 2022) published their most recent report which reveals the significant scale of benefits that NBS can deliver across developments and communities, as well as guidance to support built environment stakeholders to overcome current barriers with communicating the actual value of nature-based solutions.
The report includes framework guidance to include a range of innovative solutions and examples to effectively make a case for and assess the value of NBS, which will help support the business case for investment, delivery, and maintenance of NBS.

GreenBlue Urban was also pleased to sponsor the recent House Builder and Developer Magazine on their research relating to “Future-proofing against flood risk” having undertaken a survey to housebuilders and developers on whether they have used SuDS on developments, the barriers along with opinions on future regulations on prevention.
81% agreed that the government should commit more money to flood protection
Post survey a full white paper has been published highlighting the advantages of SuDS on developments, addressing the barriers of adoption and comprises a range of innovative stormwater solutions and a range of case studies, including GreenBlue’s MicroSuDS that offer multi-functional benefits and add value to any development!
This month also see’s the launch of the new CIRIA Natural Flood Management Manual – aimed for use by lead local flood authorities, Internal drainage boards, landowners, Highways, NGOs and more!
